Your server configuration can be synchronized and controlled across one or more server installations that may be on the same machine as the Server Manager program, or it may be on a different machine. The Server Manager interface identifies each AAA installation as a server connection and maps a hostname to the IP address or DNS name of a remote machine where a AAA server is installed. Before a connection can be defined, the HP-UX Tomcat-based Serverlet Engine must be running on the machine with the AAA server installation. Refer to the “Running Server Manager” section in the HP-UX AAA Server Getting Started Guide for more information about Server Manager.

You cannot configure servers until a server connection is defined, all configuration modification is saved locally and is not associated with any server. At least one server connection is required to configure and operate a AAA server. A connection named localhost is configured as a server connection by default during installation.
