The following new features are included in the HP-UX AAA Server version A.06.02:

  • Improved performance (over two times the throughput of HP-UX AAA Server A.06.01.05 for some deployments. Actual performance may vary, based on specific features used). These performance enhancements also provide more consistent response times under heavy load, and require less performance tuning of the HP-UX AAA Server to achieve optimal performance.

  • Support for IPv6 networks (sending and receiving messages over IPv6) - HP-UX 11i v2 only

  • Support for RFC 3162 (RADIUS and IPv6) - HP-11i v1 and 11i v2.

NOTE: For AAA server installations using customized plug-ins:

Some data structures and functions have been modified to support IPv6. Due to these changes, all plug-ins created using previous versions of the SDK must be recompiled with the HP-UX AAA Server SDK version A.06.02. Plug-ins referencing the modified data structures and functions may also require minor modifications.

For a list of data structures and function prototypes that have been modified, refer to "New and Modified Data Structures and Functions" in the HP-UX AAA Server A.06.02 SDK Guide. You can request a copy of this document and new SDK by sending an email request to aaainfo@cup.hp.com.

IPv6 Support for External Services

This version of the HP-UX AAA Server can be configured to use IPv6 addresses and support IPv6 attributes for most of the protocols and services it supports. The HP-UX AAA Server currently supports only IPv4 for the following services:

  • Dynamic user IP address assignment using DHCP

  • Access to Oracle servers

  • Access to RSA SecurID ™ servers

Fixes Included in the HP-UX AAA Server A.06.02

Following lists the defect fix included in this version of the HP-UX AAA Server:

JAGaf48283

In previous versions of the HP-UX AAA Server, the product failed to startup on HP-UX 11i v2 (Itanium only) systems when OpenSSL A.00.09.07e was installed. An error message saying “Unable to find library libcrypto.so.0.9.7” was displayed. This problem is fixed in this release.
