gWLM provides an advisory mode that allows you to see how
gWLM will approximately respond to a given SRD configuration—without
putting gWLM in charge of your system’s resources. Using
this mode, you can safely gain a better understanding of how gWLM
works. In addition, you can check that your policies behave as expected—with
minimal effect on the system.
Advisory mode is not available for SRDs containing virtual
machines, psets, or fss groups.
Once you are comfortable with an SRD, change its mode to managed
to let gWLM manage resource allocation for the compartments in the
SRD.
For information on changing modes, refer to “Changing
from Advisory Mode to Managed Mode”.
