The X.25/ACC Software product enables the HP X.25/9000 (Streams based) product to run with an ACC Multiport network adapter in a transparent manner. User access and interfaces which are available from the HP X.25/9000 product have the same functionality, whether being used through an ACC Multiplexer interface card or through the X.25/9000 interface card, with the exceptions stated in a following section.

Figure 1-1 “X25 ACC Multiplexer Subsystem” summarizes the ACC X.25/ACC Link Software components and the Subsystem's relationship with the HP X.25/9000 product and the ACC Mux interface card.

  • Solid white boxes represent the HP X.25/9000 integral components.

  • Darker shaded boxes represent components provided with the X.25/9000 product.

  • Lightly shaded boxes represent optional components that may be added to the system for use with the HP X.25/9000 product.

The X.25/ACC product provides the NLI2ZCOM driver which interfaces the X.25/9000 (J2793A/B) software to the ACC ZCOM Mux drivers and provides support for the X.25/9000 product features.

To use the X.25/ACC product, the following must be installed:

  • the HP X.25/9000 (J2793A/B) software product

  • the ACC Base Software product

  • the ACC X.25/9000 Link Software product

  • an ACC interface card.

For convenience, the three software products above are combined into the ACC and X.25/9000 Software Bundle product.

The X.25/ACC programmatic interfaces and features can be used at the same time as the low-level ZCOM programmatic interface, provided that they are not used on the same port or E1/T1 subchannel at the same time. This means that on a given system, some ports can be used with the X.25 Streams high level APIs, and others can be used with the low-level ZCOM X.25 access APIs or for other protocols via the ZCOM Programmatic Interface. Refer to the ACC Programmer's Reference Guide for more information on the ZCOM programmatic interface.
