The format of the Configuration Parameters section of the TTGEN Configuration File is as follows. Suggested values for these parameters are provided in the /opt/acc/cfg/x25_loop.answ file that is provided with the X.25/ACC product.

Configuration
System-Name "ZCOM API Intro - E1/T1 system"
Program-ZLU 20
Terminal_ZLU 1000
Logical-Term 1000
Physical-Term 1000
Buffer-Pool 3000000
Logical_size 252
Logical-data 10 X25CNT,0,X25CNT_LDSIZE
Queue-limit 4000
Transmit-limit 100
Unack-limit 5000
Port-Limit 20000
E1T1-Port-limit 100000
node-entry 1

Note that only the parameters that will ever likely be modified are described here. For additional information, refer to the ACC Utilities Reference Guide.

System-Name

ASCII string which describes this configuration. Maximum of 79 characters. Include the double quotes as shown. This string is only used by ZCOM Message System utilities ZSCAN and ZMNTR.

Terminal-ZLU

This number is set to the largest ZLU value that is used by the ZCOM Mux subsystem.

For the X.25/ACC product, the ZLUs are dynamically allocated on an as-needed basis. One ZLU is allocated for each Level 2 X.25 connection and each Virtual Circuit when x25init is used to start up a link. These ZLUs are dynamically deallocated when the Level 2 and Level 3 connections are closed using x25stop. The ZLUs that are dynamically allocated start at the first unused ZLU number (usually 1).

The x25_loop.answ file that is provided with the X.25/ACC product contains PORTTEST and MONITOR term entries. The ZLU numbers used for these must also be taken into consideration when setting the Terminal-ZLU parameter.

An error will be reported if the number of ZLUs in the configuration is not large enough. The largest valid Terminal-ZLU value is 65535. This value must not be greater than N2Z_MAX_ZLU which is described in Appendix D “Tuning and Sizing” That is, the N2Z_MAX_ZLU tunable must be set to a value equal to or greater than the Terminal-ZLU parameter.

Logical-Term

This number is set to the maximum number of ZLUs that will be used by the ZCOM Mux subsystem. Note that each X.25 link and each configured Virtual Circuit uses one ZLU.

This is different from the Terminal-ZLU parameter in that the Terminal-ZLU parameter configures a range of ZLUs, whereas the Logical-Term parameter configures the number of ZLUs that can be used. Generally, you should use the same value as the Terminal-ZLU parameter.

The largest valid value is 65535.

Physical-Term

Use the same value as was used for the Logical-Term parameter.

Buffer-Pool

The default of 3 Mbytes is normally adequate for most systems; however this parameter may need to be increased in systems with more than 16 physical links (or a very large number of VCs). Refer to the discussion of zcom_mem_size in Appendix D “Tuning and Sizing” See also the discussion of Buffer-Pool in Section 2, TTGEN-ZCOM System Table Generator, in the ACC Utilities Reference Guide. Methods for estimating required buffer sizes are suggested in these references.
