Why HP is updating the software

In order to make X.25 software products easier to support and maintain, HP has decided to consolidate multiple software versions into one, high-performance, scalable X.25 software version.




	NOTE: While HP will continue to support your current X.25 Classic product running over ACC cards (up to HP-UX 10.20), it will eventually be discontinued. If you do not update you will not be able to get future enhancements and updates.

The new version will provide you with the following benefits:

HP Streams/UX — The new product is designed to implement enhancements to the HP-UX operating system. Improvements include HP's enhanced data path technology (HP Streams/UX) that ensures efficient data transfer between applications and the network.
Multiple platform support — The same software operates on all HP-PB, PCI and EISA-based systems. Software functionality is independent of hardware.
Extended Features — The new version gives you access to extended features and ensures easy installation of future releases and enhancements.
Documentation — provided with updated support contract.
