The new versions of HP's X.25/9000 Link software and X.25/ACC software for HP 9000 servers and workstations are based on HP Streams/UX technology and enable network connections to public and private X.25 networks in compliance with CCITT 1980, '84, and '88 recommendations. It provides support for:

  • Internet Services

  • OSI Services (FTAM, MMS, X.400, CMIP and XTI programmatic interface)

  • HP NFT (Network File Transfer) protocol

  • Concurrent operation of TCP/IP, SNA and OSI protocols over X.25 (Layer 3) programmatic interface.

System impact

Since the new X.25 Streams product is designed as an entirely independent component within HP-UX, other areas of the operating system and user applications are not affected when you update your system.
