To obtain a permanent License To Use
(LTU) for VSE Management System products, contact
your HP sales representative, your HP services representative, or
your authorized HP reseller. The LTUs available for purchase are listed
in “VSE and Related License Products”. To use a purchased license, it must be added to the HP SIM License
Manager database on the CMS and then applied to a managed system.
For more information, see the VSE Management Software Version 4.0 Getting Started Guide. Use of the VSE Management Software is subject to the terms of
the End-User License Agreement included with the software. The End-User
License Agreement is displayed when you download the VSE Management
Software product bundle. The following trial licenses are
available for the VSE Management Software: When the VSE Management Software is installed on the
CMS, a 90-day trial license for the entire product set is automatically
applied to all managed HP Integrity or HP 9000 servers discovered
by HP SIM during this trial period. The trial period begins when the
software is configured. This trial license does not apply to managed
HP ProLiant servers or HP ProLiant server blades. A 90–day trial license for the entire product
set is available for managed HP ProLiant systems. This license can
be applied once per system. To obtain this trial license, please contact
your HP sales representative, your HP services representative, or
your authorized HP reseller.

On HP ProLiant servers and ProLiant server blades, a license
for Insight Control Environment (ICE) is required
for the VSE Management Software to be fully functional. The ICE license
includes HP Virtual Machine Management Pack (VMM) and Insight Power Manager, and is required for licensing HP iLO
Power Management Pack. A license for iLO2 is recommended in order
to collect power information for Virtualization Manager meters and
capacity planning. VMware and Microsoft Virtual Server (MSVS) hosts must be properly configured and licensed within VMM. |
